My Favorite Borough

I went to Staten Island this morning for a client meeting (because I have a job now) and quickly discovered that Staten Island kicks ass. Why, you may ask?

One word: chicken.

This photo was taken this morning in the parking lot of the company I was visiting. Why was there a chicken there? Was it a frequent visitor? Was it wild? I don't know. What I do know is that Staten Island is my new favorite borough.

I have never taken a ferry while in NY. Apparently there's one from somewhere that gets you most of the way to LaGuardia (maybe?), and I always thought that would be a really funny way to get to the airport. On a boat! What could be less high-tech?
I have, however, ridden the cable-car thingie to Roosevelt Island, which is just slightly freaky but also cool, like the State Fair skyway ride but with polluted river and the possibility that the Green Goblin will swoop down and jack you.

How magical, a chicken in the city. I am such a country mouse.
